CISAC Global Collections Report 2026

Global creators’ royalties reach €15.5 billion, driven by digital growth

The CISAC Global Collections Report 2026 analyses royalty collections across the global creative industries, including music, the largest repertoire, and draws on data from CISAC’s network of 228 collective management societies, including GEMA, in 111 countries.

Music creators’ royalties rose by 11.9% to €14.06 billion in 2025. Digital music accounted for 45.6% of music collections, while live and background music became the sector’s second-largest income source.

The report arrives in CISAC’s centenary year, following the adoption of The Paris Commitment on AI at its General Assembly in June. The declaration calls on governments, technology companies and cultural industries to ensure human creativity remains recognised, protected and fairly remunerated.

“Human creativity is not the enemy of artificial intelligence. It is the reason artificial intelligence exists. It is something to be valued, protected and celebrated. And I hope that if we get it right, artificial intelligence will not diminish human creativity but will help inspire its next chapter”
— Björn Ulvaeus, President of CISAC and co-founder of ABBA
